Irmo’s Incredible Okra Strut Celebrates 50 Years of Family Fun!

Hey there, Irmo! Get ready to mark your calendars because something thrilling is coming up in your town. This year, the Lexington Medical Center Irmo Okra Strut is back for its 50th anniversary, and it promises to be a fantastic celebration filled with fun, food, and, you guessed it, lots and lots of okra!

When and Where?

The festivities are happening at the beautiful Moore Park, formerly known as Irmo Community Park. Join in on the fun on September 27-28. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday and begins bright and early at 9 a.m. on Saturday. So whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, there’s something for everyone!

What to Expect

This year’s Okra Strut is not just about the delicious food. It’s a full-on family fair with a lineup of activities that will keep everyone entertained. Local favorites and exciting performances will be part of the two-day extravaganza!

Live Music Lineup

Music lovers, rejoice! The event features an amazing lineup of bands, perfect for setting the mood for a fun-filled weekend. On Friday evening, get ready to rock out to **Simply Shania**, a fantastic tribute band celebrating the music of Shania Twain. Following them is **Cowboy Mouth**, sure to keep the energy high as you dance the night away!

But that’s not all, folks! Saturday will highlight the local talent with **Say Femme**, the winner of the Irmo Battle of the Bands. They will take the stage before the legendary **Absolute Queen**, a Queen tribute band that promises to deliver a show-stopping performance. It’ll be a night to remember with friends and family!

Food and Vendors Galore

What’s a fair without amazing food? The Okra Strut will feature plenty of food vendors, serving up delicious dishes highlighting okra and other local favorites. Whether you’re a fan of fried okra, gumbo, or exploring new culinary tastes, this is the place to be! Don’t forget to check out the various vendors showcasing their goods – there’s a little something for everyone!

Getting There

For those driving in, parking is a breeze! Several local churches are offering convenient parking options, along with spaces closer to the park for your convenience. Plus, to make your trip stress-free, a free shuttle service is provided to transport you to and from the fair. No need to worry about finding a spot; just hop on and enjoy the ride!

Join the Celebration!

It’s hard to believe that the Irmo Okra Strut has reached its milestone of 50 years! This event is about community, fun, and celebrating our love for food and music. Whether you’re a long-time attendee or a first-time visitor, the Okra Strut is all about making memories with family and friends.
