Lexington Celebrates Grand Opening of Outback Steakhouse, Offering a Taste of Australia

Lexington Welcomes Outback Steakhouse: A Taste of Australia Right at Home!

Good news for all the food lovers in Lexington! On a beautiful day filled with plentiful sunshine, forecasted to reach a high of 76°F, the community celebrated the grand opening of the new Outback Steakhouse. Situated at 5595 Sunset Blvd, this Australian-themed restaurant is making quite an entrance in the town where the former O’Charley’s used to serve up its popular dishes until mid-2023.

From Concept to Reality

The journey to this grand opening has been quite the adventure for Nikki Shiggs, the proud proprietor of the Lexington branch. She shared, “We’ve been dreaming of opening an Outback in Lexington for about ten years.” After finally securing the space, the team jumped right into construction, which wrapped up a week ahead of schedule—a real win for the crew!

It seems like the community has been waiting in eager anticipation, and their excitement was palpable on opening day. Even as late as 9 p.m., eager diners continued to fill the tables, with Shiggs reflecting on the amazing community response, saying, “People were ready to knock down the doors. I’m so glad we can finally serve our community!”

A Menu that Invites Smiles

If you’re new to Outback, you might be wondering what to order on your first visit. The restaurant is well-known for a few fan favorites that are bound to make your mouth water. The Bloomin’ Onion is practically a rite of passage for first-timers, served with their signature bloom sauce. If you’re in the mood for steak, you can’t go wrong with their sirloin steak. The Aussie cheese fries, topped with crispy bacon and homemade ranch, and Alice Springs chicken, smothered in sautéed mushrooms, bacon, cheese, and honey mustard, are also must-tries!

Thanks to the Team

Shiggs was quick to give credit where it was due. “I want to thank my staff because without them, I’m nothing—they’re more important than me,” she said, showcasing her dedication to her team. She also expressed gratitude to the training crew and upper management, emphasizing that it truly takes a village to make this all happen.

Hours and Opportunities

Not only do we now have a delightful dining option in Lexington, but Shiggs hopes to grow her team further. The restaurant is open every day of the week. During the week, you can swing by from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., while weekends stretch the hours a bit later, closing at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 9 p.m. on Sunday. If you’re interested in working at this lively new spot, there are still openings for front-of-house positions. Interested applicants can easily check out the opportunities by visiting the Outback website.

Closing Thoughts

As Lexington residents flock to the new Outback Steakhouse to savor that delicious taste of Australia, it’s exciting to see the town embrace this new addition. With a charming atmosphere, a menu designed to please, and a dedicated staff aiming to create memorable dining experiences, the Outback is primed to become another local favorite. So why not round up some friends or family and go check it out? Who knows—the perfect steak and those crispy cheese fries could be waiting just for you!
