August 30, 2024
Larry Bruce Stanley Jr., a resident of Lexington, SC, breathed his last on August 30, 2024, after a gallant fight against pancreatic cancer. Born to Larry Bruce Stanley and Mary Jo McRae on August 27, 1963, Bruce left a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Life Well-Lived
Bruce was widely known for his unconditional love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Keisha Carroll Stanley; his sons Justin Tyler (Morgan) Munn of Leesville, and Dalton Ryan (Jodi) Stanley of Lexington, and his daughter, Cierra Faye Banks of Lexington. His sisters, Michelle (Raymond) Kilgore, Tammy Kelly, and Lisa McRae; his brothers, Jerry (Denise) Stewart, and David Meetze; his nephews Matthew (Samantha) Kilgore, Triston (Jodi) Kelly and Will Coppersmith; and his nieces Kaitlyn Stewart and Anna Coppersmith are left to mourn his demise.
Most fondly remembered will be his grandson, Bentley Munn, and granddaughters, Presley Munn, and Willow Stanley, who brought immense joy and pride to Bruce.
He found happiness in the simplest things. His fur babies, Noah and Stormie, cherished companions, added to his moments of joy at home.
A Man of Many Hats
Apart from his undying affection towards his family, Bruce also found solace on the golf course. As a member of the Orangeburg Country Club, he regularly indulged in the sport with friends on Saturday mornings.
Bruce was known for his quick wit and humor, often using these qualities to brighten up the surroundings, even in the company of total strangers. These attributes also brought laughter and warmth to his frequent hangouts with friends at restaurants on Friday nights.
Work Life
Bruce’s professional career was as illustrious as his personal life. His contributions to the building industry were significant. Working for Builders Wholesale Flooring since 2005, he carried out his responsibilities as the Branch Manager until his retirement.
A loyal fan of the Carolina Gamecocks, he requested his well-wishers and friends to wear garnet and black in his honor, as a sign of solidarity for his undying love for the team.
A Man of Faith
“God has got this.” With these meaningful words, Bruce echoed his faith and encouraged others during tough times. His unflinching faith in higher power was a deep source of strength.
