Hey, Columbia! It’s that meaningful time of the year again when our lovely community comes together to give back. This Tuesday marks the start of WACH FOX’s 26th annual ‘Share Your Holiday’ Food Drive, the largest food drive in the whole state! What a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer!
With the holidays right around the corner, many families in the Midlands are looking for ways to fill their tables with delicious meals. That’s where you come in! WACH FOX has teamed up with Harvest Hope Food Bank, and they’re asking all of you caring neighbors to lend a helping hand. Whether it’s dropping off a bag of canned goods or making a cash donation, every little bit counts!
From 6:00 am to 5:30 pm, the friendly WACH FOX crew will set up shop at Market on Main in downtown Columbia. This is your chance to make a tangible difference in someone’s life this holiday season!
So, what kind of food items should you bring? Non-perishable food items are the best! Think canned vegetables, cereal, pasta, or peanut butter — anything that can be stored for a while and would make a nutritious meal. If you’d rather make a contribution that way, feel free to bring cash donations too! Every dollar goes a long way in helping those who need it the most.
For those who are eager to give but can’t make it to the event, no worries! You can always donate online. Just visit this link: https://give.harvesthope.org/ge/shareholiday24. Or if texting is your thing, simply text “SHARE” to 803-866-7512, and you’ll help someone in need in just a few taps!
Additionally, local Food Lion locations are also accepting drop-offs, so you can spread some joy while you’re out grocery shopping.
And here’s a little fun fact: if you’re in the mood for a bite to eat or a refreshing drink, you can visit Market on Main during their happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to Harvest Hope Food Bank! What a delicious way to give back while enjoying some time out!
As the colder winter months approach, many families struggle to keep food on the table. By participating in this food drive, you’re joining a community effort to ensure that everyone can enjoy a hearty meal this holiday season. It’s a great chance for all of us to come together, strengthen our bonds, and support our neighbors who need it the most.
So mark your calendars for this Tuesday, and let’s show what the heart of Columbia really looks like. Let’s fill those donation boxes to the brim with hope and love because this time of year is about giving, kindness, and community spirit. Together, we can make a big difference in the lives of so many. Don’t forget to share this news with your friends and family, because the more, the merrier!
Let’s work together, Columbia! Happy holidays!
