New headquarters of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources

News Summary

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) customer service team is relocating its headquarters to a new facility in West Columbia on February 14. All customer service phone numbers will remain unchanged during the move, and the team will continue providing support without interruption. Customers may experience longer wait times during the transition, but online services via GoOutdoorsSC.com are encouraged. Additionally, deer tags will soon be available for hunting license holders, while a recent hunting accident in Kershaw County serves as a reminder of safety precautions.

Exciting Changes for South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Customer Service Team!

West Columbia is buzzing with excitement as the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) customer service team prepares for a big move. That’s right! On February 14, they are relocating to their brand-new headquarters located at 260 D Epting Lane, right next to the State Farmers Market. Who doesn’t love a fresh start?

Your Connection Remains Unchanged!

For those of you who might have contacted the SCDNR before, you’ll be happy to know that all customer service phone numbers will remain unchanged during this transition. So, whether you need assistance with hunting licenses, boat titling, or anything else, you can reach out just like before. And here’s some good news: the Customer Service Office will continue operating without any closure during the move!

Be Prepared for Longer Wait Times

However, if you plan on stopping by or giving them a call, you might experience longer-than-normal wait times as the team gets settled into their new digs. But fear not! In this day and age, where efficiency is key, many customers are encouraged to jump online instead. The SCDNR has a fantastic online boat titling and licensing platform available at GoOutdoorsSC.com, and you can also use their handy Go Outdoors SC app. Why wait, right?

Alternate Locations Available for Service

And if you find the wait a bit too long, don’t forget there are other SCDNR customer service offices you can visit in the meantime. One such office is located at 514 E Main St, Lexington, SC 29072, and their contact number is 803-359-7633. It’s all about making your experience as smooth as possible!

Upcoming Deer Tag Distribution

Now, as the hunting season approaches, there’s some exciting news for South Carolinians holding annual or three-year hunting licenses. Brace yourself for deer tags! These tags will soon be sent out from the SCDNR, and they will be valid starting August 15. This applies to those with hunting licenses, big game permits, combination licenses, or sportsman licenses. How great is that?

Additionally, if you’re a holder of lifetime, senior, gratis, disability, or Catawba licenses, you will continue to automatically receive a free base set of tags upon request. Just a little something to look forward to! For youth license holders, remember, it’s a must to request your free base set of tags each year. Don’t forget!

When and Where to Get Deer Tags

Now, mark your calendars because deer tags will be available over-the-counter starting August 5. You can find them at various SCDNR offices scattered across the state, including places like Charleston, Clemson, West Columbia, Florence, Aynor, and York. So whether you’re a seasoned hunter or just starting out, make sure to grab those deer tags!

Tragic News from Kershaw County

On a more somber note, SCDNR recently addressed a tragic hunting accident that occurred in Kershaw County. A 25-year-old hunter was discovered dead off Flat Rock Rd from an apparent gunshot wound. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of the precautions we all need to take while enjoying outdoor activities. An autopsy for the young hunter is scheduled for Monday at Newberry Medical Center, and the SCDNR expressed their condolences to the grieving family during this tough time.

In Conclusion

As the SCDNR customer service team gears up for this new chapter, residents of West Columbia and beyond can look forward to both enhanced services and ongoing support for their outdoor adventures. We’re all rooting for smooth sailing as they settle into their new home!
