Lexington, SC

On May 15, 2024, a man suspected of stealing a lawnmower from Lowe’s Home Improvement in Lexington, South Carolina was caught on camera. Now, the Lexington Police Department is urging residents to assist in identifying the suspect.

In Pursuit of a Thief

Detective Davis from the Lexington Police Department has requested the public’s assistance in identifying a man who they believe stole a lawnmower from Lowe’s Home Improvement store, located at 5412 Sunset Boulevard. The incident occurred in broad daylight when the thief was purportedly dropped off at the entrance of the store in a black Dodge Caravan, bearing no license plate.

The suspect then made his way towards the lawn and garden section, choosing a Recycler Lawn Mower priced at $549.00. Following his selection, he left the store without making any payment for the item.

Given the growing problem of shoplifting in Lexington county, solving this case is a top priority for local law enforcement.

Public Assistance Required

Detective Davis is urging anyone who recognizes the suspect to come forward and share the information with him. Information could be passed directly to Detective Davis at 803-358-727, or by contact via email at tdavis@lexsc.gov.

This kind of public involvement has proven invaluable in the past to solve similar cases and bring those responsible to justice. Residents of Lexington county have always shown a strong commitment towards maintaining law and order in their community, and their assistance in identifying this suspect will be much appreciated.

Steps to Protect Yourself from Theft

While the Lexington Police Department vigorously pursues this case, residents are encouraged to take precautions against theft in their community. This includes securing their properties, installing security systems, and being vigilant of any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.

Returning stolen property and cracking down on activities like these poses significant difficulties for law enforcement. Therefore, it’s crucial for every community member to participate in efforts that actively discourage theft and protect the community’s assets.

As law-abiding citizens, recognizing our role in crime prevention can strengthen the safety of our neighborhoods and build a strong deterrent against criminal activities.
