Timberlake Plantation Announces Appointment of New Executive Chef
Chapin, SC 03/15/2024 – Timberlake Country Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Michael Gowan as its new Executive Chef. Chef Gowan joins Timberlake with over 25 years of culinary experience, including as Executive Chef at the renowned Bar Figaro Dining Group, The Governor’s Mansion, and The Rusty Anchor. Chef Gowan is known for his innovative approach to classic dishes and his passion for using fresh local, seasonal ingredients. He is excited to bring his talents to Timberlake and create a memorable dining experience for members and guests alike.
Chef Gowan graduated from Chapin High School and the Culinary Institute Program at USC. His extensive experience and expertise in the culinary industry make him a valuable addition to the Timberlake family.
Chef Gowan will oversee all aspects of the club’s culinary operations, including Mulligans Pub, The CLUB (Main Dining Room), Banquet Events, and Private Parties. He will work closely with the club’s catering team to create custom menus for special occasions.

Timberlake Country Club is a semi-private, equity-owned club located off Amick’s Ferry Road in Chapin. The dining room and pub are open to the public. Visitors are welcome to make reservations in the dining room by calling the club at 803-345-9909 ext 2. Mulligan’s Pub in the lower level is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm, offering lunch service Tuesday through Sunday from 12 noon-4 pm.
