Lexington, SC – In a heartbreaking incident that has shaken our community, a tragic two-vehicle accident in Irmo has taken the life of a young girl and left others injured. This unfortunate event occurred on the evening of December 9, 2024, along St. Andrews Road, a busy thoroughfare in our area.
According to a report from the Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, the victim has been identified as Brittany Rosalinda Valencia, a 16-year-old from Columbia. Brittany was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling eastbound when disaster struck around 8:45 PM. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the driver of their car lost control, leading to a horrific crash with an oncoming vehicle. Despite being buckled up, Brittany sustained serious injuries and unfortunately died at the scene.

Likewise, the driver of the opposing vehicle was transported to an area hospital also with non-life-threatening injuries.
