Unclaimed Vehicles in Columbia: A Chance to Reclaim Your Ride Before They Hit the Auction Block

Columbia, SC: A Journey Through Unclaimed Vehicles

Hey there, Columbia! Today, we’ve got an interesting story for you – it’s all about unclaimed vehicles that are looking for a new home. You might be surprised to know about the hidden treasures lurking in our tow yards. Whether it’s that shiny 2006 GMC Yukon or a sporty 2007 Dodge Charger R/T, there are quite a few cars looking to find their way back to their owners… or off to a new adventure. Let’s dive in!

The Situation

So here’s the deal. A number of vehicles have been declared as abandoned under South Carolina law, specifically Sections 56-5-5810 and others. This means they’re currently parked in the custody of local towing companies, waiting for their owners to come and reclaim them. Unfortunately, if the owners don’t act fast, these vehicles could be heading to public auction sooner than later!

What’s Up for Grabs?

Here’s a peek at some of the unclaimed vehicles currently sitting in our lovely Columbia:

  • 2006 GMC Yukon – VIN: 1GKEK63U46J163808 owned by Whitnee Davis Spry from N. Donar Dr. Sweet ride, isn’t it?
  • 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee – VIN: 1J4GW58S74C400281, owner Willie M. Chiles from Wynette Way. A majestic jeep just hanging around!
  • 2008 Toyota Solara – VIN: 4T1FA38P18U159815 owned by William Elias Still from Calhoun St. This one looks like a fun ride!
  • 2006 Hyundai Sonata – VIN: 5NPEU46F86H034907, owner Vanessa Jackson from Alcott Dr. A charming little sedan!
  • 2007 Dodge Charger R/T – VIN: 2B3KA53H57H602775, owned by Clifford Armstead from Oak Street. Talk about a speedster!
  • 2004 Ford Taurus – VIN: 1FAFP55UX4G171176, owner Paula Johnson from Fairlamb Ave. A classic favorite!
  • 2011 Ford Taurus – VIN: 1FAHP2FW5BG181991, owned by Samuel Cobbs from Bee Ridge Rd. This one is a bit newer!

Reclaiming Your Ride

If you happen to recognize your wheels on this list – or if you’re an owner of any of these beauties – you have 15 days from the notice to come and claim your vehicle. A payment is required to cover all charges associated with towing and storage to get them back in your driveway where they belong.

But don’t delay! If the owners don’t step up within this window, they might lose their chance. Imagine waving goodbye to your beloved car for good! Heartbreaking stuff.

What Happens Next?

After 15 days, if no one has claimed these vehicles, they may be sold at a public auction, which usually happens at 10 a.m. on the first Monday following the expiration of 30 days from the notice date. It’s a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to get their hands on an unclaimed gem – but let’s hope they can reunite with their original owners first!

Keep your eyes peeled, Columbia! You never know, you could be driving home in one of these vehicles soon!
