Exciting Developments at The Unumb Center as Jessica Hudson Joins as Executive Director

Exciting News for Lexington: Unumb Center Welcomes Jessica Hudson as New Executive Director!

Lexington, get ready to celebrate! The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment has just announced that Jessica Hudson, BCBA, will be stepping into the role of executive director. A familiar face to many in the area, Hudson brings along an impressive 16 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to her new position.

Meet Jessica Hudson: A Local Making Big Waves

Born and raised in Lexington, Hudson is more than just a local; she’s an advocate for the autism community who is deeply passionate about helping individuals and their families. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a licensed behavior analyst in North Carolina, she knows what it takes to make a significant impact. Her most recent role as Director of Clinical Operations at the Autism Center of Excellence in Raleigh-Durham has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience.

“The Unumb Center is renowned nationally and globally for its impact in the autism community,” Hudson expressed with enthusiasm. “It’s an honor to lead this organization as we expand our mission to serve individuals across all stages of life. I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Lorri, the board, and her team have built.”

Growth and Change at the Unumb Center

This isn’t just a new appointment, folks; it’s a launchpad for exciting developments at The Unumb Center! Founded in 2010, what began as a single program, the Autism Academy of South Carolina, has blossomed into a thriving hub of support for the autism community. Recently, the Center has recognized a significant need for services that go beyond childhood, particularly for adults who require long-term care. That’s where their newest venture, known as Unumb Place, comes in!

Earlier this year, the Center purchased a sprawling 10-acre property in Lexington, set to house adult programs and provide residential services through six brand-new homes. Renovations are already in progress, and the first residents are expected to move in by the spring of 2025.

A Community Like No Other

“Unumb Place represents a significant milestone for our organization,” declared Lorri Unumb, the Founder and Board Chair of The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment. “We’re creating a community where individuals with autism can thrive throughout their lives, supported by tailored programs and compassionate care.”

This initiative not only showcases the commitment of The Unumb Center to expand services to adults but also highlights the importance of creating a nurturing environment for those on the autism spectrum. With Hudson at the helm, the center is poised to make strides that could potentially change lives.

Looking Ahead

As Hudson takes on this pivotal role, the excitement is palpable. The Unumb Center’s mission is not only about providing exceptional ABA therapy but also about addressing service gaps that families often face. With Hudson’s extensive background in clinical operations and her heartfelt dedication to serving individuals with autism, the future looks incredibly bright.

So, Lexington, let’s rally together and support the wonderful work that The Unumb Center is doing under Jessica Hudson’s direction. It’s an exciting time in our community as we witness the growth of services that cater to everyone’s needs!
