Lexington is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to welcome a brand new upscale steakhouse right in the heart of downtown! The highly-anticipated eatery is set to take over the spot located at 101 W. Main St., a prime location that was previously home to Alodia’s Cucina Italiana. A talented trio of restaurateurs, Steve Cook, Joe Walker III, and Ryan Jones, are teaming up to bring this culinary gem to life, and let me tell you, they have some big plans!
Construction is already in full swing, with Boyer Construction leading the renovations to breathe new life into the space. The steakhouse is set to open its doors come January, and both locals and visitors are eagerly awaiting the debut. Cook shared that their goal is to create a “modern take on the classic steakhouse” – think upscale yet totally approachable. He emphasized, “We want to create a space where customers feel good as soon as they walk through the door.” Sounds delightful, right?
Let’s dive into who these guys are! Steve Cook is no stranger to the Midlands dining scene. As the owner of Saluda’s in Five Points, Arroyo on Harden Street, and Il Bucato pizzeria on North Beltline Boulevard, he definitely knows his way around a restaurant. Joe Walker III has been involved in the restaurant business for years, previously owning several franchises, including Scooter’s Coffee and Marco’s Pizza. And last but not least, Ryan Jones, who has experience as a general manager at Hall’s Chophouse in Columbia, rounds out this skilled trio.
So what kind of delicious dishes can we expect when the doors open? According to their announcement, the menu will feature hand-cut steaks, homemade pasta, and fresh seafood, among other thoughtfully curated seasonal dishes. You can almost taste the deliciousness already!
Now, if you’re familiar with downtown Lexington, you’ll know it’s a bustling area, packed full of charming restaurants, bars, shops, and more. A few local favorites include O’Hara’s Public House, Keg Cowboy, and Bodhi Thai Dining, plus you’ve got the Icehouse Amphitheater just a hop, skip, and jump away from the new steakhouse. With all this vibrancy, Cook and his fellow restaurateurs are confident that their new venture will be a perfect fit for the community.
Walker also mentioned that their aim is to restore the beautiful building and showcase its unique design. He expressed their enthusiasm by saying, “We can’t wait to be part of Lexington’s thriving downtown, and we’re proud to offer a place where people can come together to celebrate life’s milestones and make lasting memories.” That really captures the spirit of what this new restaurant is all about, doesn’t it?
For those who may not know, Alodia’s Cucina Italiana was a well-loved spot in the community that operated at this location for many years before closing down in April. It will be exciting to see how this new steakhouse evolves and makes its own mark in downtown Lexington!
As we count down the days to January, it’s clear that this upscale steakhouse is on the path to becoming another beloved destination in Lexington. Keep your forks ready; it looks like great dining experiences are just around the corner!
