USC Marching Band Gears Up for Historic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Debut in New York City

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Exciting Preparations Underway for USC’s Marching Band!

To make things even more challenging, the band won’t just be in New York; they will also be preparing for their big game against Clemson just two days after the parade. “The students will be on the road for an entire week,” explained Vaz.

This extensive trip involves a total cost of around $650,000 for the entire band, including 35 faculty and support staff members. Due to the nature of marching band funding, where only 20% of the band members are actually music majors, the costs of the parade cannot be adequately covered by the usual budget set aside for football games and regular performances.

Given these extraordinary circumstances, the USC Marching Band has taken to crowdfunding to raise the needed financial support. As of now, they have reached nearly 66% of their fundraising goal, but time is running short.
