Columbia Hosts 24th Annual Vets' Christmas Charity Ride to Honor Veterans and Spread Holiday Cheer

Columbia Gears Up for Holiday Spirit with Annual Vets’ Christmas Charity Ride!

It’s that time of year again, folks! The city of Columbia is set to come alive with the spirit of giving as the beloved 24th Annual Vets’ Christmas Charity Ride rolls into town this weekend. Maker your calendars! On December 8th, motorcycle enthusiasts and community members alike will gather to spread cheer and joy to our brave Veterans at the Columbia VA Health Care System (VAHCS).

Kickoff at Carolina Honda

The festivities will kick off at the remarkable Carolina Honda Powerhouse parking lot, located at 901 Buckner Rd., starting at 9 a.m.. If you’re a rider, this is a wonderful opportunity to rev up your engines for a noble cause. And if you’re not on two wheels, don’t fret! Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun and contribute to the spirit of the season.

After a morning filled with excitement, riders will be escorted by local law enforcement on a picturesque journey to the Dorn VA Medical Center, located at 6349 Garners Ferry Rd., where they will deliver holiday gifts to Veterans at 2 p.m.. What an incredible way to brighten the day of those who have served our country!

A Tradition of Giving

The partnership between Carolina Honda and the Columbia VAHCS has flourished for over two decades, aiming to ensure that Veterans across the Columbia area, including inpatient and community living centers, receive generous gifts during the holiday season. This tradition stands as a testament to the community’s commitment and gratitude towards our heroes!

Food, Fun, and Festivities!

But wait, there’s even more! What’s a community event without some tasty food? For those attending, a minimum of two food trucks will be on-site at Carolina Honda, offering delicious, hot meals available for purchase—fuel up before the ride! And that’s not all; the Boy Scouts of America will be on hand as well, providing refreshing drinks and tasty sweets to delight attendees.

How You Can Help

If you’re feeling the spirit of giving but not quite ready to hop on a motorcycle this year, you can still get involved! Everyone can partake in this heartwarming initiative. To learn more about how to donate or to find out how you can be a part of this year’s ride, visit the Vets’ Ride website. It’s a simple way to brighten the holidays for those who have given so much for our freedom.

Perfect Weather for the Occasion

And let’s hope for some pleasant weather to accompany this wonderful event! The forecast is looking decent for the ride, with mostly cloudy skies shifting to sunshine in the afternoon and a comfortable high of 61°F. However, brace yourself for a chilly evening as temperatures dip to around 25°F later on, so don’t forget to bundle up!

So mark your calendars and let’s get together to celebrate our heroes and spread some holiday cheer! We can’t wait to see you all on December 8th, ready to make some magical memories together. Happy Holidays, Columbia!
