Hey there, West Columbia residents! The holiday season is here, and the City of West Columbia has some important updates you need to know about regarding City Hall closures, sanitation schedules, and even a little reminder about those *sparkly* fireworks we all love to see!
Mark your calendars because City Hall is taking a little break! City Hall will be closed on December 25 and 26 for Christmas. Regular business hours will kick back in on Friday, December 27. So, if you need to stop by for any business-related inquiries, make sure you plan accordingly.
And just when you thought the holiday closures were over, we’re also looking ahead to the New Year! City Hall will also be closed on January 1, 2025, for New Year’s Day. But don’t worry; you’ll be able to hop back in with regular hours starting on Thursday, January 2.
Due to the holidays, there are going to be a few changes to the sanitation schedule, so take note! If you have Thursday sanitation pickups, those will now be collected on Friday, December 27, instead. So don’t forget to roll your trash bins out a day later than usual!
One important thing to keep in mind: There will be no yard trash collection on that same day, December 27. And for New Year’s Day? Just a heads-up, there will be no yard trash collection on January 1, 2025, either. So if you’re planning on cleaning up post-celebrations, you might want to hold off until the next pickup day.
Did you know you can stay updated with all sanitation details right from your own phone? Just check out the City’s website or download the WeCo Info app for the latest scoop! You can even report service requests online through the Civic Web Portal. It’s super convenient!
The festive season is the perfect time to come together as a community, and we want everyone to have a safe and joyful holiday season. Whether you’re spending time with family, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying the break, let’s make the most of this wonderful time of year!
