West Columbia Sparks Holiday Cheer with Annual Parade of Lights!

This weekend, West Columbia is gearing up to bring some much-needed holiday warmth and joy to the community! With a fantastic lineup planned, residents and visitors alike will want to bundle up and join in the festivities.

On Saturday, December 16th, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber invites everyone to enjoy an afternoon filled with celebratory fun and local charm. The Chamber Office at 1006 12th St. will be transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland where families can get together and make some merry memories. Families can look forward to live music, fun activities for all ages, and perhaps even a surprise or two!

This year’s festivities don’t stop there! The Holiday Parade of Lights will light up the night! Last year, more than 24,000 people flooded the streets, captivated by the twinkling lights and vibrant floats. It’s no wonder that this yearly event has become a cherished tradition in our community. The grand parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and promises to set the perfect holiday mood! Right after the sun dips below the horizon, don’t miss out on the spectacular view of festive vehicles rolling through the streets, all decked out in dazzling lights.

Don’t Miss the Holiday Parade Shuttle!

Getting around town has never been easier! The Chamber has organized a Holiday Parade Day Shuttle that runs a loop through Cayce and West Columbia, making stops at local shops, restaurants, and businesses. It’s a great opportunity to shop local, grab a bite to eat, and fully embrace the holiday spirit! So hop on the shuttle, explore, and make the most out of your day. Riding is easy, convenient, and a great way to see everything these lovely towns have to offer.

Honoring Community Leaders

This year, the parade will have a special surprise for attendees! The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is none other than Lexington County Council Lady Debbie Summers. After two decades of dedicated service to our community, she will be taking a well-deserved retirement. What a fantastic way to honor her contributions to West Columbia! Her presence as Grand Marshal brings an even deeper sense of warmth and appreciation to this festive season.

Check the Weather!

While you’re getting ready to step out for the parade, don’t forget to check the weather! This weekend’s forecast calls for sunshine mixed with a few clouds. Expect temperatures to reach a comfortable high near 60°F during the day but don’t forget to bring a cozy jacket for the evening as it cools down to a low of 44°F. With gentle winds coming from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph, it’s going to be a lovely day to celebrate with family and friends.

So, grab your family, invite your friends, and come experience the magic of the holidays in West Columbia. With delightful sights, sounds, and community spirit, it’s the perfect way to embrace the season. Don’t just keep the joy to yourself—share it with your loved ones and let’s make some cherished memories together this holiday season!
