West Columbia Sets Stage for New Prisma Health Urgent Care Facility

West Columbia Welcomes New Prisma Health Urgent Care Facility

Hey there, West Columbia! Exciting changes are on the way for our community, and it’s all happening at 2501 Augusta Road. The spot that once buzzed with seasonal businesses is undergoing some major renovations to transform into a brand new Prisma Health urgent care facility.

A Blast from the Past

This location has been a familiar place for many in our area, having previously housed a variety of rotating seasonal shops. Who remembers the thrill of grabbing last-minute fireworks for the Fourth of July or New Year’s? It even turned into a Halloween haven with a costume shop during the spooky season! But now, it’s time for something new.

Construction is Underway

As of now, a big, bold sign from Clifton Construction is proudly displayed outside, announcing that the urgent care center is “coming soon.” While the exact opening date remains a bit of a mystery, it’s clear that work is already in progress. Just the other morning, a quick drive-by revealed a flurry of activity on-site. If you’re driving by, you might notice some fresh sounds and sights as they get everything ready for us!

Zoning Board to Review

In related news, the West Columbia zoning board is set to take a closer look at this project during their October 15 meeting. They’ll be discussing some additional signage for the facility, which will help folks find this new health resource once it opens. It’s always good to have clear signs about where to go, especially when seeking urgent care!

Perfect Location for Healthcare

This site sits in a prime location along a bustling commercial corridor. With around 38,000 cars making their way down that stretch of Augusta Road each day, it couldn’t be more convenient for residents. Just a hop and a skip from Interstate 26, this facility will offer easy access for anyone needing urgent care.

Plus, let’s talk about the neighborhood! Nearby you’ll find Hobby Lobby, Walmart, KJ’s grocery store, Planet Fitness, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and a wide variety of dining options, from casual eateries to fast food joints. That means if you’re running errands or grabbing a bite to eat and suddenly need a quick check-up, Prisma Health will be right there.

What Does This Mean for Us?

The addition of this urgent care facility is sure to be a great benefit for our community. With healthcare services just around the corner, residents will have peace of mind knowing that help is nearby. Whether it’s a minor injury, sudden illness, or just a routine check-up, it will be nice to have an option that is both accessible and reliable.

Stay Tuned!

So there you have it, West Columbia! A fresh new chapter is opening at the former seasonal business hub. As construction progresses and more details emerge, we’ll keep an eye out for announcements about the official opening date for the Prisma Health urgent care facility. It’s certainly an exciting time to be part of this community as we embrace new resources that make our lives a bit easier!
