Whataburger Arrives in Columbia: Get Ready for a Tasty Treat!

Columbia, South Carolina, is buzzing with excitement as it welcomes its very first Whataburger restaurant! Opening its doors on Monday, this popular Texas-based chain is set to make a big splash in the local fast-food scene. Located at 202 Bridgeberry Lane, just off the Killian Road exit of I-77, this is a culinary moment you won’t want to miss!

Meet the Team

Leading the charge at this new establishment is Ashley Adams, the operating partner with a solid background. Previously an operating partner in Texas, she’s also brought her experience from Walmart and Xerox into her new role. With a dedicated team of 75 employees ready to serve, you can bet that the burgers will be sizzling and the fries hot!

Grand Opening Fun!

Now, let’s talk about the grand opening festivities! The excitement kicks off at 11 a.m. on Monday, and there are some thrilling rewards up for grabs! The first two guests to pull up in the drive-thru will snag free Whataburger for an entire year. Yes, you read that right—imagine a whole year of delicious Whataburgers! And for those who prefer dining in, the first person through the dining room doors will also join the club of lucky year-long free meal recipients!

But wait, there’s more! The next 100 customers will walk away with some cool Whataburger swag, so there’s plenty for everyone. And a special shout-out to our veterans and active-duty military: come in wearing your uniform or showing your ID, and you’ll be treated to a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee. What a way to show appreciation for our heroes!

Expanding the Burger Family

Whataburger isn’t stopping with Columbia. Just last month, they opened a location in Irmo, and they’ve been popping up in several other areas, including Greenville, Anderson, Boiling Springs, and Mauldin, since July. If you’re in the mood for a satisfying meal, you’ve got more than one chance to grab a bite!

But hold on, that’s not all—more locations are on the way! The chain has announced plans to set up shop at 888 South Lake Drive in Lexington later this year. Plus, fast forward to 2025 when we can expect new locations at 5648 Calhoun Memorial Parkway, Easley in the spring and 1537 E. Main St., Duncan in the summer. It seems like Whataburger is on a roll, and Columbia is just the beginning!

What’s the Buzz?

The locals are buzzing with anticipation, imagining their first bites of the famous Whataburger, with its juicy patties and unique toppings. From the classic Whataburger to the mouthwatering Whataburger with cheese, every member of the family is sure to find their favorite! And let’s not forget those iconic fries—golden, crispy, and oh-so-delicious.

Final Thoughts

As Columbia gears up for the big opening day, it’s clear that Whataburger is ready to become a beloved fixture in the community. So whether you’re a local or just passing through, be sure to swing by the new eatery, enjoy the festivities, and indulge in some tasty burgers. Here’s to Whataburger making Columbia a little tastier, one burger at a time!
